Mark Stevens has worked in Middle Level public education for almost 30 years. He enjoys employing blended strategies to support students in social studies learning and communication skill development. He has found this is the best way to serve all students, no matter their challenges or advanced skills. Throughout this time Mark has been able to support this effort by acquiring advanced degrees in education, history, and learning technology design research. Mark’s doctoral dissertation involved examining the use of a multimodal system of content learning to support English Learners, and other students, while they studied history. His continued practice and research centers on using blended learning, and serving students in traditionally underserved populations.

Merinda Davis is part of a diverse team of educators who develop resources and curriculum. Along with more than 10 years teaching Social Studies in Alpine School District, she has instructed teacher education programs at both Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University. Additionally, she develops online Research Quest investigations for the Natural History Museum of Utah. She holds both a Bachelors of Science in History Education and a Masters of Education specializing in Global Studies in Education. She travels the world studying international education systems and cultures to deepen her classroom instruction. She inspires students to become active global citizens empowered to make positive impacts on the world.

Craig Perrier is the High School Social Studies Curriculum and Instruction Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools in Fairfax, VA. He is also an adjunct professor for the teacher certification program Educate VA and with Framingham State University. . Previously, he taught at American Schools in Brazil for six years and for six years in public schools in Massachusetts. After leaving the classroom, Craig was the Coordinator for Curriculum and Instruction for Social Studies and History at Virtual High School and then the PK-12 Social Studies Coordinator for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. He has consulted with IREX, IIE, iEARN, The Global Campaign for Education, ABC-Clio, The World History Project, and the U.S. Department of State Office of the Historian. In addition, Craig has a M.A. in Global History, M.Ed in Education Leadership and is pursuing is doctorate in Education Leadership He presents at regional and national conferences, and is the creator of the free online teacher resource "U.S. History in a Global Context."

Karen is a Ph.D. student in the Instructional Psychology and Technology program at Brigham Young University. She has been an ELA teacher, magazine editor, and instructional designer. Her research and design interests are in blended teaching, personalization, and self-regulation.

Lisa R. Halverson is a Civics Education Fellow at the Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah Valley University. She holds a PhD in Instructional Psychology & Technology from Brigham Young University, where she researched blended learning engagement. Lisa also holds an MA in History from Stanford University and a BA in International Relations from Stanford. She has taught high school and university courses for over 20 years. Lisa also helps direct a nonprofit dedicated to women's involvement in politics and governance. A native Oregonian, Lisa now lives in Springville, Utah, with her husband and two children.
